Ryan Silva joins the CIDAR Team after teaching at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs. He taught in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department where he directed courses ranging from introductory ECE up through senior-level embedded systems design. After four years of teaching, Ryan earned the academic rank of Assistant Professor.

Ryan has been in the Active-Duty Air Force since his graduation from USAFA in 2005. He is a member of the Cyberspace Operations career-field and has worked in many news-worthy DoD organizations as well as deployed to some extremely sunny and warm locations. He is currently assigned to Boston University as a Computer Engineering PhD candidate and looks forward to graduating in three years.

He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from USAFA (BSEE) and the Air Force Institute of Technology (MSEE). CIDAR plans on leveraging his background in ECE to advance research in Biosensors.
